Conference Workshops |
||
|
Outside of the General Sessions, the CMA District Children's Ministries Conference will offer a variety of different workshops for conference attendees. Organized in a roundtable format, the workshops will feature specific leadership topics facilitated by experts in the field. The table topics will rotate throughout the conference and will tie-in directly to the general session topics, allowing attendees the ability to process and apply the principles taught during the conference. This group setting for workshops not only encourages interaction, but breaks down walls and barriers eliminating a large-conference feel. It also enables conference attendees' personal interaction with nationally recognized leaders in children's ministries. |

Sparking Fresh, Creative Movement in Your District
| As culture and trends shift, so must our methodology. The message is, of course, always the same, but how can we relay it in fresh, creative ways to capture the hearts of today’s kids? How can we inspire and motivate our teams and those we work with to think creatively? How do we structure events, programs, and outreaches to stretch our finite sense of what is “possible”? | ||

It Takes More than One | |
| Imagine one person attempting to produce the beautiful sound of an entire symphony by him/herself, trying to play a myriad of different instruments at the same time. Even for the most talented “one-man-band” act out there, we would call this an impossibility. It takes more than one. Yet sometimes, this is how we lead. We need to rethink the word “Teamwork.” What does your symphony sound like right now? | ||

Keeping Your Budget in the Black and in Perspective
| We all know the importance of budgets – especially with all that has happened in recent times. What are some effective budget-management and fundraising techniques to help keep your budget in the black? We must also, though, guard against the temptation to let profit margins dictate every decision made. How do we balance the sowing of ministry with the reaping of necessary funds? | ||

Empowering Your Leaders with Training and Resources
| As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17). Are we proactively seeking to be that sharpener for the leaders in our districts? Simply placing a knife and a whetstone in close proximity to each other will yield no results. Sharpening requires movement. It requires intentional action. What are you doing now to help sharpen the leaders in your district? | ||

Evaluation for Success
| Before you can get to where you are going, you must first discover where you are. Then, a route can be discerned to get you from location to destination. Some hard questions have to come into play here. Where are we now? Are we being effective? How do we determine effectiveness? What is our goal/vision? How do we get there? | ||
